The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides direct supervision over all appointed department heads and budget/administrative review over all other departments. Important goals of this new structure include allowing the County Executive Officer increased time to provide more direct service to the Board of Supervisors and focus on policy making, allowing consistency in direction to all agencies/departments, developing coordinated strategies to implement County goals, and helping to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
