The Coordinated Entry System has implemented a Shelter Bed Reservation System for individuals (adult-only households) and families (households with minor children). The Shelter Bed Reservation System for individuals is operated by the County of Orange, Office of Care Coordination. The Shelter Bed Reservation System for families is operated by the Family Solutions Collaborative. The Shelter Bed Reservation System is a centralized system where available shelter beds can be accessed by individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The Shelter Bed Reservation System will leverage vital infrastructure provided by the Orange County Coordinated Entry System.
The goal of the Shelter Bed Reservation System is to create a more streamlined and accessible process for individuals and families experiencing homelessness to obtain shelter and understand the availability of emergency shelter beds throughout the community.
Individual Bed Reservation System
The Individual Coordinated Entry System currently provides referrals to two (2) Emergency Shelters through the Bed Reservation System. In partnership with American Family Housing, referrals to the Project Homekey sites in Anaheim and Huntington Beach are provided through the Bed Reservation System. On March 1st, 2023, two (2) additional county shelters will begin participating in the Bed Reservation System. The two shelters that will be added are Yale Navigation Center operated by People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) and Bridges at Kraemer Place (Bridges) operated by Mercy House. Family Bed Reservation System
The Family Coordinated Entry System currently provides referrals to 65 Emergency Shelter & 13 Transitional Housing family units through the Bed Reservation System as openings become available.
