The Lived Experience Advisory Committee (LEAC) functions in an advisory capacity to the Continuum of Care (CoC) Board and is intended to ensure that the voices and perspectives of individuals with current or past lived experience of homelessness are elevated in the decision-making process of the Orange County CoC. The LEAC also provides a mechanism to share recommendations and feedback on the CoC and its programs and services. The LEAC is also called upon to collaborate with and support other CoC Committees for the purposes of evaluation and systems improvement.
On behalf of the LEAC, the Office of Care Coordination as the Administrative Entity of the Orange County CoC is facilitating the recruitment and selection process for three (3) committee members:
- North Service Planning Area (SPA) Representative: Individual with current or past experience of homelessness within the North SPA
- Central SPA Representative: Individual with current or past experience of homelessness within the Central SPA
- South SPA Representative: Individual with current or past experience of homelessness within the South SPA

Application and Selection Process
If you are interested in applying, please review the LEAC Member Opportunities Description (linked below) and complete the LEAC Member Interest Form via SurveyMonkey at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LEAC2024. The Office of Care Coordination will prioritize Interest Forms received by Friday, August 23, 2024, but will connect with additional interested individuals on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
Once the applicants have completed the Interest Form, the Office of Care Coordination and LEAC Nominating Ad Hoc will review Interest Forms received. The LEAC Nominating Ad Hoc will then proceed with hosting brief "meet and greet" calls with applicants, to allow for applicants to expand on their desire for serving on the LEAC as well as ask questions. The LEAC Nominating Ad Hoc will then select three (3) members based on the responses to the Interest Form and "meet and greet" calls, to fill the North SPA, Central SPA and South SPA seats. The Office of Care Coordination will then communicate with all applicants to share information on next steps. The selected applicants will be asked to attend a regular meeting of the LEAC to get a sense of the meeting format and purpose. Following the meeting, the candidates will be given the opportunity to confirm their desire to serve on the LEAC.
